Galatians 3:26 – 28 You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Corinthians I 12:15 If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body?
To fulfill our belief in justice by working collaboratively to achieve full LGBTQ equality within the faith community and in society.
Description of Activities
A large percentage of our congregation is LGBTQ, and many hold leadership positions in our church. Our LGBT equality efforts are wide-ranging from periodic liturgical and scriptural interpretations on equality to marching in the local Gay Pride parade to Transgender awareness and remembrance activities to World AIDS Day services. We partner with Dayton-area LGBTQ organizations and straight allies to advocate for full equality. Harmony Creek is home to various LGBTQ organizations and activities. PFLAG and Rainbow Elder Care of Greater Dayton meet regularly at our church, and we have hosted events featuring the Dayton Gay Men’s Chorus. We put our belief in equality and justice into action by taking a vocal leadership role on issues of equality in the larger faith community and in society.
