Sanctuary comes from the Latin for “sacred place.” Sanctuary maintains a faithfulness to Christian worship tradition and practice but in a way that’s fresh, lively and consistent with progressive theology and witness. We will sing hymns, enjoy beautiful choir and organ music, offer praise and prayers, and engage with sermons that are challenging and inspiring.
We have a come as you are rule. Don’t worry about wearing your Sunday best – dress in whatever way you feel comfortable. You’ll find everything from suits and ties to shorts in the warm weather. Most people wear jeans or what you’d think of as business casual. But we don’t care what you wear. Just wear something!
We sing a lot! A couple of hymns, some contemporary praise music, and a few very interesting interludes. And our organist – well, you’re in for a treat!
Our worship begins at 10:30am and lasts 60-65 minutes. We typically begin with an organ prelude and end with a postlude. In between, we mix it up a bit, but everything you need to know is printed right in your bulletin. Every other week, we enjoy a choir anthem. Sometimes we schedule special music.
